DESCRIPTION:Join us for our monthly Government Affairs Council meeting! Government Affairs Council (GAC) meetings are open to all members. Come prepared to listen and contribute to the topics of the day. Public and elected officials from our state\, Pierce County\, City of Puyallup and City of Sumner are regularly in attendance. We discuss issues and policies pertinent to business as they relate to government affairs. Guest speakers are brought in to speak on expert matters.\n\n\n\nWe've invited newly elected Councilmembers from City of Puyallup and City of Sumner to attend and introduce themselves. We hope that those that are unable to attend on Tuesday will join us at a future GAC meeting.\n\n\n\nCongratulations to new Puyallup City Councilmember Lauren Adler who is confirmed to attend\; Councilmember Renne Gilliam has a scheduling conflict. We congratulate and look forward to working with both!\n\n\n\nCongratulations also to Sumner's new and returning City Councilmembers Andy Elfers\, Curt Brown and Carla Bowman. There is another vacant seat on the Council and the City is accepting applications. Learn more at https://connects.sumnerwa.gov/council-vacancy.\n\n\n\nAt Tuesday's meeting we'll also hear our usual updates from other public and elected officials.\n\n\n\nMeetings are held (with the occasional exception) the first Tuesday each month\, 8:00am - 9:00am\, virtually via Zoom (since April 2020).\n\n\n\nSince our meetings moved to Zoom\, we have made archived recordings of GAC meetings available on the Chamber's YouTube channel.
