Referrals and word of mouth marketing can make or break a business. Never has this idiom been truer than in today’s web world. Feedback and ratings seem to be a part of every website and new rating services start up every day. Customers have never had so many venues to share their thoughts about you, your business, and your products.

Some suggest it is no longer possible to own your brand, but you can create and guide your own buzz. The “buzz” is your online reputation and it is the collection of all the information a customer learns about you when your brand name appears in a web search.

In this seminar, you will gain a broad understanding of some of the new web technologies and tools that can aid every small business leverage the web. Create a buzz, listen to the buzz, respond to the buzz and profit from the buzz. You will learn tactics for monitoring and managing your online reputation.

Beyond the website alone, social and business networks, social search directories and other business profiles must tell a consistent brand story. You will learn how to determine which social sites are best suited for your marketing strategy.

Personal Blogs, Bloggers, Feedback Sites, Podcasts, and Micro-blogs such as Twitter can be used for brand creation and reputation monitoring. You will begin to gain an understanding of how these technologies can be applied to marketing activities from customer awareness programs through loyalty and customer retention activities.
