Dig It!

Dig It!
at the Puyallup Public Library

Kids ages 6-12 can explore the fascinating world of archaeology and excavation at the Puyallup Library (324 S Meridian, in downtown Puyallup) on Friday, July 19thbeginning at 3:00pm. Dig It! will feature photos and facts from a real archeologist’s dig and a guest who has actually been on a dig adventure. Kids will also enjoy solving plaster-cast dinosaur bone puzzles, ooing and aaahhing at a display of authentic fossils, and getting a surprise “dig” into a tasty treat. Come ready to learn about uncovering secrets from the past and make a few discoveries of your own.

This FREE special library event is part of the “Dig Into Reading!” summer reading program for children. Watch for more events each week. Designed to keep young people reading during the long hot days of summer, the summer reading program at the Puyallup Public Library offers fun incentives to help children maintain their reading skills. All children who spend time reading, listening to an audio book, or being read to, can enter drawings for great prizes.  Plus, every child who reads (or is read to) at least 10 hours this summer will get a FREE book and a ticket to Northwest Trek/Pt. Defiance Zoo & Aquarium, as well as free goodies at local retailers. The 2013 summer reading program runs June 17 through August 17. It is generously funded by the Friends of the Puyallup Library and many local businesses. For more information call 253-841-5454 or visit our website at PuyallupLibrary.org.
